ABOUT US
The Presbytery of South Alabama is a mid-council of the Presbyterian Church (USA), with 21 congregations across the southern tier of Alabama. We span an area from the beaches along the Gulf of Mexico north to Jackson, AL, and between the state’s borders with Georgia on the east and Mississippi on the west.
We are one of 12 presbyteries in the Synod of Living Waters (Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and Kentucky as well as parts of Arkansas and Missouri).
The offices of the Presbytery of South Alabama are located in the facilities of the Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church. We exist to serve the congregations of the Presbytery as they seek, collectively and individually, to live into the Great Ends of the Church:
the proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of humankind;
the shelter, nurture, and spiritual fellowship of the children of God;
the maintenance of divine worship;
the preservation of the truth;
the promotion of social righteousness; and
the exhibition of the Kingdom of Heaven to the world.
